Hey folks I'm new to the forum and hoping to pick your collective brains. I recently bought an 05 Brute, and so far I love it! The only issue is that when it doesn't run for more than a few days, it just won't start. Seems like maybe a fuel issue, almost as if it's losing prime? Does this make sense? I haven't really gotten too much into it yet, but I was wondering if there might be a known issue around this problem. It's got a full tank of fresh gas, so that isn't an issue. I did notice today that when I pulled the fuel lines connected to the fuel pump, there was almost no fuel in them. Does that tell anyone anything? I'm going to get into it a bit more this weekend, so if anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, all!

Welcome. They all do this..well the 05-07 050s anyway. The way they the Bowles are vented, the fuel evaporates quickly and as soon as the float drops, the fuel in the line pulls back to the tank unpriming the pump. And as the choke pups fuel straight from the bowel, that us now too low to get any fuel, you will have to crank it long enough to refill then before it will start. And if the manual pump is weak, it may not do it soon enough. The fix is an electric pump and just run it for a few seconds before hitting the starter button......pr do what I do, use a shot of starting fluid under the airbox lid.
