so i was bout to clean out my carb... it was backfiring and i looked down into the carbs and there was a spark everytime i was reving it up!... whats wrong with it?... by the way i flipped it in a pond last weekend.. but it was running fine!

and im going on a ride tommorrow.

You mean your actually seeing a spark? Disconnect your carb heater wire's and see if it stops sparking.Their the two white wires with the red stripe,one on each carb.Try that first.

my dad said the sparking is normal when its backfiring!.. its not normal for it to be backfiring but the spark is part of the backfire!.. is this true?

If the spark is happening when the backfire does it is from the backfire. Try leaing out the fuel air mixture. Turn is down abou a 1/4 turn and see what happens.
