Can anyone tell me how to insert the emoticons? And how does a person advance to an intermediate or pro position on this website? New to the website and don't fully understand how it works. Please help.

when you are writing out a reply, you will see little smileys on the left side of the text box... click on those and they are added after the last word you have written.

When I do that it just puts the name of the smiley face?
what am I doing wrong.
