'12 750 Speed Wobble?

Just recently when I've gotten up to maybe 35mph or so on a pretty smooth road the steering wheel will wobble back and forth. I know the faster you go the less power steering assist you have, but I'm holding tight etc and it seems to wobble. Is this possibly a loose tire?

Stock tires? A bad belt or ply in one of them,maybe?

If they are large-lugged aftermarket tires...especially ITP you will have wobble . It will be worse with extra toe-in so check that. I quit using ITP tires cause they all did it.

They are still stock tires and rims Atm because I figured might as well use them, but what exactly is the extra toe?

Oh...then you probably have a tire coming apart or something causing a bad imbalance. Toein is part of the front end settings.
Mine did not shimmy with the stock tires at any speed, but the steering is/was very light at speed on cement (50 plus). I put ITP Terra's on and I had a bad shimmy at 30mph...had them balanced and they took an unreal amount of weight...no shimmy now, but I doubt I get ITP tires again as I hear this is quite common. I have not checked my toe yet.

On another note, I think the steering is too light at highway speeds...but I do like the EPS on the trails for sure and I dont ride highway unless I am in WV going to the trailhead

Hmm ok. I figured the eps would play a little part but going 40+ and it shakes pretty good and of course the faster the worse it shakes which is a tad sketchy going that fast lol. Thanks for the info

Don't let it man...with stock tires it shouldn't at all. Something is wrong with a tire I'll bet and a blow-out at 55 isn't something you want to experience on an ATV. Jack it up and spin them...look for one that is out of round or has a bulge...something. Maybe one's beed was never set. Pull the valve stems, let all the air out and flex the side of the tire over to the center. Look for an area the beed isn't pressed flat to the wheel edge.

Ok! All the lug nuts are tight, and none seemed to be leaking but jacking it up sounds good! Thanks! If I can't find anything ill take it to a dealer and see if they can find anything I don't

Umm no idea. I have maybe...20-30 hours or so. I talked to a local dealer and he figured it was a balancing issuer like NMKAWIERIDER talked about. He recommended either newer tires better suited for terrains or just not going to fast on smooth dirt or pavement because he said the weights would bounce off if I was on off road trail

mud stuck oin the wheels will throw it out of balance too

I noticed my Grim Reapers are out of round the other day. At slow speeds on pavement they feel like a cold bias ply tire. Jacked it up and you can see the rise and fall of the thread when you spin it. I'm hoping they will get better after some wear.

Beed probably not seated all the way around. Need to break,lube and reseat with 25lbs pressure.

Not to steal your thread, but I figured this was pertinent information to the topic, and it may help someone down the road.

Didn't want to break the beads, so here is what I tried to do:

  1. Removed the front tires and aired them down completely
  2. Tightened a ratchet strap around the center tread and compressed the tire
  3. Used a dead blow hammer and pounded around the tire to even out the strap's pressure on the tire
  4. Retightened the strap again until very tight
  5. Aired the tires up to 35psi
  6. Removed ratchet strap
  7. Mounted tires
  8. Aired down to proper PSI

It didn't work out perfectly, but I did manage to take some unevenness out of the tire. Still a little wobble, but not as bad. The rears were also uneven. Instead of going through all the steps I went through with the fronts, I just aired them up to 35psi. Seemed to take some wobble out, but not sure how they will act once I air them back down.

Just for laughs, take your worst one and brake the beeds, clean the tire beed and the rim beed well, then lube with dish soap and air up to at least 30. They sometimes have to BANG or POP hard to seat to the wheel edge. Going easy doesn't always do it.
i've found alot of machines even new ones have the wrong toe. you will really notice it at high speeds, i've found 1/2 and inch toe out is the sweet post and really helps at high speeds epically with bigger tires...just did a king quad with 28's that was really spooky full out and it was toe in about and inch and it was brand new took it to 1/2 inch toe out and its mint
i havent had time to check mine yet but i bet its out
