Sidewall repair

Hello All,

I have a 1 inch or so puncture in the sidewall of a GBC Grim Reaper tire and am wondering how to repair. It's on the front and I ride pretty rough terrain at speed. Wondering if a sticky string patch, inside patch or tube install would be best? Really don't want to replace as these tires have a ton of tread. All opinions and suggestions are appreciated.

Also, if a tube is the answer should I do one on the other side so weight is the same?

There is too much multi-directional flex to use a standard inside patch so a large "hot" patch will be necessary...if they still do it.. but that still won't be enough. Also have to use a tube but just in the one. The best thing is to replace that tire but if there is much tread wear you would have to do both. Sorry to hear about your sidewall. You can avoid "some" of that by running a bit more air when on rocky terrain.
