Used Brute how many hours/miles is too many?

Sorry if this has been covered, my searches didn't get anywhere.

I have an 08 Brute that I love! I'm looking to get another 750 and found a 2014 but it has around 4300 miles on it. It's priced around $4k and seems to be in good condition but I'm Leary of the miles. What do you guys think? Do I negotiate or wait for the next better deal?

If it's been well taken care of that's not too bad. But if it been abused or neglected at all or had lots of back-yard mods done..or if it's been mudded..I would wait for the next one...and if at all possible, shoot for a 2015 or newer. That's the next gen with the new efi and other stuff.

Hours are pretty important too. Theres tons of machines with low mile around me but the hours are half or 3/4 of the miles it tells me the machine spent a lotta time in the yard or plowing. If you divide the miles by the hours you'll get a sense if the machine was put to work (or mudding) or on the trail. Up north or out west that mileage wouldn't scare me. Here in CT it would or any other place where trails are short or nonexistent.

The mileage vs hours works out to an average of 12mph. As for mudding, that's not as big a thing up here in Montana. Good advice on the 2015.

If that's the case, I'd check for play in the a-arms and check the deflection on the belt. If it all checks out I don't see that mileage being a problem.

Yep, I'd check play in front a arms as well.

Just replaced the entire front end on ours (upper/lower bushings and upper a arms). Brake pads, and going to replace all seals on both sides of the drive shafts.

I'd suggest getting under and looking at those too.

Welp, change of plans. I decided to hold out for something with lower miles.

Well, I'm headed out to take a look at a... Drum roll please... White, 2015, 750 with 750 miles listed at $5500.
