Brute 840 build carb question

I’m finishing up my 05 Brute Force 840 build with hotcams mudbuster cams, dual 2” snorkels, Dynatek cdi, and hmf exhaust. I was wondering if anyone could give me any idea on where to start out at tuning the carbs? I only ride in Florida and I know it’s going to be a game of trial and error but a place to start would be nice.

Well...start with the snorkels. The 2" was proven too small for the stock engines a long time ago and now yours is an 840 with cams..better go 3" first. Then go up 3 jet sizes to start with. Then #40 pilots and 1- .020 shim under the needles.

Thanks for the help. Will one 3” snorkel be better than two 2” snorkels coming out the air box?

Nope..the airbox's port is 2.19"..just under 2.25 so to cut the restriction you use a 3" rubber or silicone parts and just clamp it down on the port. That port must breath like there is nothing on it....and air...like fluid..hates to be turned. You could..make it easier and nicer by using 2.5" turbo pipe and silicone 90s or 45s. Have to paint it black...or what ever color you like but it will work better and install easier then that heavy-ol 3" ABS or PVC. I got all my stuff for my sxs on ebay.
