2012 BF750 lost all power

Hey guys, got an issue and am concerned itís not going to be a cheap fix (a hunch). Anyway, itís gradually gotten worse to the point I canít drive it a quarter mile before it acts up.

It fires right up and when I take off it accelerates fine (probably a little less than when new by the butt dyno) but once it gets up to speed (40+mph) it starts to bog down and cough and sputter until it comes down to 10 mph or less. Itís as if itís not getting fuel is the best explanation I can give. I can tell itís struggling to pull itself, kind of like holding the brake while giving it throttle but I donít have a sticky brake.

I have replaced spark plugs, no effect.
I pulled the fuel pump and replaced the strainer on the end with a new one certain that was my problem (have similar experiences with my dads Ď05 King Quad) but that didnít help either. When I replaced that it took off and ran well for about 2 miles at half throttle or less but as I continued to drive it a total of 5 miles it got worse and by the last 1+ mile it would barely pull itself at 15 mph.
If I keep the throttle at a minimum I can putt around locally on the farm. And if I kill it and start it back up it doesnít improve.

I havenít taken a compression test yet but Iím a little worried that she needs a new top end. Iíll try to check compression ASAP but I have other things going on that take precedent.

Anyways, looking through the search I couldnít find a similar issue so Iím posting this to you guruís. Thanks for any and all help

Next time it does it loosen the gas cap. If the problem goes away, replace the vent check valve. Common problem. If not...I would test the actual fuel pressure, do take a compression test, check the valve lash and..check the voltage at the battery and coils. Low power from a bad battery or charging system is the #2 cause of your symptoms. The #1 is a fuel problem.

Thanks, I did think of the fuel tank vent but havenít had time to pull it. Never crossed my mind to loosen the fuel cap.

took it out for a quick spin and didn't get 100' before she acted up and barely got it back to my barn. It wouldn't even accelerate at half throttle.

front cylinder has 60psi compression.

rear cylinder has 40psi compression.
book says 54-88psi
I'm sure on the low side of those numbers

I've had airbox issues and I think that's my problem....worn out engine.
