I recently order 5 items from Babbittsonline* for an 08 BF 750i (bumber, plastic bumber cover, rad mount and front and back racks) parts names listed are different but I didn't want to confuse things. And I picked the most expensive shipping to ensure speedy delivery.(120$) bringing my total or parts into the 540 range
Myself and my friend who I was ordering for double checked the online parts order looks good, next day I get an email that says the Bumber (the metal bar under the plastic) is discontinued. I sent an email back saying well it should be the same parts from the 05 to 09 models of the 750i so I don't think it's discontinued but order the other 4 parts anyways. I get the parts On Sept 30 nice big box I open the box and only find 2 parts the Plastic bumber cover and rad mount total cost of these 2 items was 65.14 (plus the 34.40 I had to pay at the door for brokerage fees because I had them ship to Canada).
I send them an email to the listed email address while looking at the email invoice I got on order it listed 2 back racks at 133$* and no front racks(under 100$) so in the email I listed the fact the numbers might be wrong ( did go to an other online order form at a different place and one of the parts is for the front like I ordered). I get no response to my email so I call the next day asking about the racks.
I'm informed Kawasaki has discontinued the front and rear racks(carriers) for the 08 BF 750 and they will refund the items I tried to inform then the 08 and 09 should have the same parts but the person didn't want to listen/help and just refunded the price of the racks..
So I go to my Creditcard invoice online I noticed what they billed me and credited me
579.28 original billing
267.71 credit* for the racks
leaving
311.57 billing on 65.14 in parts
so I called found out they left the front bumber on the bill and they will issue the 93$ refund
so I'm at 218.57 left on charges
removing my 65.14 in parts
leaves me at 153.43 for shipping plus the 34.40 brokerage fees at the door... somehow
so Total shipping is 187.83 for 65.14 in parts from babbittsonline (yes they aren't responsible for the 34.40 UPS tack on fee but it's still part of shipping for using UPS)
I've called asked them to adjust shipping for the parts shipped* and didn't ship and they say they can't change it even though they didn't ship some parts. I asked if you shipped none of them would you still charge me? The person laughed but said no... needless to say I'm still shacking my head at this all and they won't adjust it.
I don't think my original shipping was 153.43 I think it showed as 120$ but I was not at home and their email copy didn't send an itemized copy to me with billing just what I ordered.
What's sad part is there parts are for a friend who doesn't have money to waste(that's why I ordered for him) so he's going to owe me 253$ on 65$ in parts total we order online because it was cheaper then local shops even with shipping... was.... if we received it all.
On a happy note Cycle-parts online sent me the first part that was 'discontinued' (the front bumper) USPS I received it faster then the UPS order and only 10$ on brokerage fee for $100 dollar part) and only 35$ shipping (locally they wanted 190$ so we saved on that). They also say they have no problems getting the racks and have no idea why I was told all 3 parts are discontinue on new products lines.
I think we will just be under what local shops wanted but just under because of the over change on shipping. I'm still not sure what to do they refuse to refund the difference in shipping the 5 parts to only shipping the 2.
