Mine runs at about 190-200 and stays steady in that range. I rode 3 weekends in a row with the whole machine including rad caked in mud just to see if it would overheat and the temp guage went to 210 once on the last weekend as I was buried in a deep hole, other than that stayed in the 190-200 range and lower at times when in water and such.

Here's my opinion on the matter. If you ride serious mud at all get the radiator. When I got mine I wired it to a manual fan switch, when I first started it up after installation I let it get hot, real hot like 240* then hit the switch for the fan. I watched the temp go from 240 to 190 in less than a minute. In the nasty hot humid summers that I have here in Florida I have never had another issue with overheating. Mine is mounted on the front rack though, but that will soon be changing and going back to the stock location since I have hung up my waders and don't get crazy in the mud like I used too.

It doesn't take much in a stock radiator for it to overheat personally I would rather have the peace of mind

Excellent instructions. I am really happy with the way it went in. The only thing I dont like is trying to find all the little screws and such and trying to fit my plastic all back in.haha. Again thanks for info as it was really helpful.

Nice write up man.
you will enjoy it.
I did not see your radiator shroud. Did you forget to put it back in?
Mud is going to get all over the place with out it.
I had to modify my shroud to make it fit . but it will fit.

No I didn't put it back on because it didn't fit without cutting it, may have to look into it to get it back on.

Another thing as well I noticed that when I took my stock radiator out the top and bottom still had allot of crap in because it has stuff in the way so its hard to get a good cleaning. You will notice that the Hghlifter Radiator is shorter but longer, so it fits better in the window for you to spray it out to clean.

Are those two bolts at the top the only bolts that hold the radiator on the frame? Im finally getting around to putting mine back in the frame.
