Recently put an HMF exhaust on my wifes 08 Prairie 360.

Came with a 155 main jet in the kit.

Was definitaly running lean so I installed the main jet.

Starts up and runs good but won't Idle, even after it's warmed up.

Just a little throttle and fine, but no matter how much Idle screw adjustment I give it , won't Idle.

Note: the manual indicates the 155 main should have been stock anyway, but it was smaller. Not marked.

Main jet shouldn't affect idle anyway.
Any suggestions or experience here.
thanks.

Have you adjusted the pilot/mixture screws yet? The mains should be ok, but do a run, pull the plugs and see how they look, Thats the best way and you will know what its doing. What other mods does she have done? I would start with the pilots. Doesnt make since though if it ran fine before the pipe. Did it idle fine with the stock jets? Mains are only for top end so i dont know why that would effect it. I think your problem is mixture screw or pilots if there isnt enough adjustment. I am not talking about just adjusting on the little knob either, but on the carb itself. Give some more info so we can get you lined out.

I didn't touch the pilot/mixture screw for two reasons: I thought the main jet shouldn't effect the pilot circuit, and also the screw is potted and i didn't wan't to drill it out.

Just the exhaust and a twin air filter.
Idled OK before.

i'm thinking since I drained and refilled the tank, maybe some dirt got down into the pilot jet???

Any suggestions would be helpful,
thanks

hmmm. Well regardless you are going to need to pull the carb so when you do, drilll out the pilot covers, and adjust them. While they are off, go ahead and go through the carbs with some cleaner. Like you said, maybe something got inside. Good luck and let me know what you find out.

Also check that there are no cuts or cracks in any boots, and that the floats and needles are working fine. Just putting on a pipe shouldn't have effected the idle. Something else happened while that carb was off. Is there any wires to the P360's carb that was left off?

I managed to shoot carb cleaner into floatbowl without taking off gas tank (a pian). Started up pumped throttle a couple of times and turned in Idle screw.

seemed to do the trick, in fact starts and Idles better than ever.

thanks for help.
