My 02 Prairie 650 went under for two days because of Hurricane IKE. After carbs replaced and new battery, it surprisely runs fine, except it doesn't move when in gear. I removed torque converter cover and everything is frosty from salt water. I need to remove the torque converter and hopefully take it apart without breaking it. Is this going to be extremely difficult. I just want to take it apart and unfreeze the springs or weights or whatever is there. Any advice or suggestions would be most appreciative

thats a clutch spring install and uninstall not anything to do with your torque converter, its your primary and secondary clutch those are great instructions.
Sorry didn't understand what you needed or would have pointed you in the right direction sooner.

I live on this sandbar called Galveston. The eye went over top of us. The praire was upside down when I found it and I thought that was a good thing. That kept the bottom end drained but the carbs stayed full of saltwater and they small internal pieces literally dissolved. I put some used EBAY carbs on for 150 and it fired up first crank and runs pretty smooth. I got lucky on the carbs. Amazingly, all electrics work except for maybe the KEBC which might just be frozen. I wonder how this thing would ride if I left it broke.

Here is pic of my shop when I got home. The tire of the Prairie is in the foreground, and yep, its upside down. The boat was tied securely to the trailer and did not come off. It only has a small ding on the bow, it still runs fine.

I was in the first group on the Island after the Storm. We had to drive in 4-wheel drive through a maze of boats and ships scattered on the highway to get in! I work part time for HHS. I ran the Logistics side of the operation for the evac at Ball High School and the opening and running of the emergency room at UTMB. I was on the Island for two weeks. The damage was really unbelievable! I had to go down to Jamaica Beach Fire Dept and vacinate about 40 firemen, police officers, the Mayor and some city workers and they were really hit hard also. I met the Fire Chief who was a direct decendant of the pirate Jean Lafitte. When I left the Island to go over to Port Author and Beaumont for a couple more weeks of duty they were just getting some power to a few parts of the island. How are things now? Still a mess i'm sure but are things coming around? They had just found the second tiger that had gotten loose floating in the bay right before I left. I was tired of keeping one eye open at night when I slept on a cot and in a sleeping bag in the middle of a parking lot with a couple Tiger's running loose. The skeeters and no-see ums were bad enough! I was one big bump after the first night. I couldn't believe those things could bite through a blanket! Glad you made it through and didn't stay on the island during the storm. You can always replace stuff but you only got one body! Where on the island do you live? I got to know it pretty good after a couple weeks. What are you close to?

I live on the west end right before Pirates Beach. That's next to Jamaica beach so you were not too far away. Things on the Island are coming together......yeah, our skeeters are quite tough, but keeping some garlic in you diet realy pays off. My biggest gripe about the whole deal was having them shutdown the Isalnd for two weeks, not letting anyone back on that had something left. I found out more houses were lost from mold than the storm because they wouldn't let people in to get the wet sheetrock out. My house was fine, downstairs was muddy (see pic) but the shop was a disaster. I had to sneak on the Island after the third day. Luckily my house is directly across from the Diversionary canal. If I went towards Jamaica or the causeway, I would have been arrested. Once I got on my property I was good to go. I made mad scramble to get things flushed out. Two awesome BBC were full but I saved them. I had trucks, cars, my 02 Prairie and other things that did not have full coverage had to be quickly worked on. We were fed and watered everyday from Red Cross so it was just a matter of feeding generators for about 3 weeks using all the fuel in that boat. I am so glad I filled it to the top and didn't loose any.

Glad to hear you were of great service and helping us out. My brother is a fireman so you probably met him. Yeah this storm was a little over the top. I'm glad I didn't stay but I sure don't like being shutout from my property. I spent the extra money on construction for concrete pilings because I knew one day we would have a big one. So I was confident my house was ok. It took me and my wife 3 full days to have the entire downstairs stripped clean and bleached. I heard some many horror stories of people having thier houses condemned just from mold. Anyway, thanks for helping us out.

Hey, before I go, here is a tidbit of info. I recently found out that the mayor during the 1900 storm is named IKE and out mayor.....can't confirm this yet is a direct descendant of him. Wierd.....
