Default New member & owner of a 07 650 straight axle

I just recently purchased a 07 bf 650 that has been setting up for 2 years.I just had all new valves put . The carbs was in bad shape cleaned up good & put new plugs in. Cranks and runs good w the choke on. The back carb seems to be the one causing problems , drilled the fuel air mixture screw out made 2 1/4 turns on them, drained the old gas out & still can't figure out what's going on. This my first Kawasaki I have ever owned, I have owned many 4 wheelers & done carb jobs, this one is giving me problems. Valve are adjusted right & timing is set , also not sure what the fuel cock needs to be set on ? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site. What happensd most often is the pilot jet and track get blocked with the evaped gas and it take either a vatting or some real soaking with carb spray and air pressure to clear them. The pilot jet is very small and doesn't take much to block it or the track. You will have to take them off to do thie cleaning. Work it over for a while and use some hair-size wire & carb spray. You'll get it. The jets do come out. Do the main jet too while you are in there. The valve position should be set to ON. The PRI position is used when the pump needs priming only.

Good luck. They are great bikes once the bugs are worked out.
