Default Howdy from TEXAS

Hey guys i'm new to the forum. I bought my 07 750 Brute on wednesday and am a forum junky and happen to run across this site. Thanks a bunch for let me join, Im sure i'll learn tons about the brutes because this is actually my first big bore quad. I recently switched from a 02 Banshee that had close to 70hp but Ive been needing to make the swap to a utility quad for a while now. Hunting and trail riding are some of my favorite hobbies.....really couldn't do that on the banshee. Today was the first time I was able to actually ride it for a good while and I am really impressed on the power and handling something this big. The brute is 100% stock....only thing i'll probably do to it is a Muzzy full system and a wheel/tire combo. Anyways, thanks once again from down here in TEXAS.

No joke, its somethin all the time. Welcome to the site BeachCruiser. There are several things you can do that don't cost a lot of money but make a huge difference. Once you add wheels and tires you have added a lot of extra weight over stock but for very little money you can get a lot of improvement back and more. You will forget you added tires and wheels and still be a big improvement. Start out easy and small like with a Dynatek CDI and go with a maroon primary spring. Both of these are cheap and easy io install.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Im not really planning on going all that big on the tire/wheel combo. Most likely stay with a 12" rim but go up to a 27" tire, possibly something light weight and not too aggresive. Maybe something like a Bighorn or dirt devils. Any other suggestions for a good tire for trail riding, slight mud and quite abit of sand?
Also, I know what I Dynatek CDI is because i bought a one for the banshee, but what is a maroon primary spring? What are some other freebie or fairly cheap mods I could do?

Hey Monsterbrute. I'm in the SW corner of AR. and down your way all the time. I was in Keller last weekend, I'll be in Corpus Christi all of next week and then in College Station for a week at the end of April. Holla. You need to come to the SLUMLORD RIDE. It won't be a bad drive for you and you won't forget it! We have a blast!

I have the 27" ITP Swamplites and love them. I have all the same riding conditions you do and have not found anything that they don't like. They do a good job on all that you mentioned. I can't testify on how they handle snow cause we don't get much... The maroon primary spring is a little stouter spring on the engine side of the belt drive system. It makes it hook up faster and get outta the hole quicker. NMKAWIERIDER explains it as well as anyone I have ever heard. He's got it down. Do a seach on the site and there is tons of info on the topic. The spring and dynatek combo made a really huge diff. Add tires to it and U go from a already killer machine to a really BAD AZZ dirt chunkin mud rippin gravel slingin dust throwin killer machine...

It's always good to find a fellow Texan. I live in Portland, about 10 miles north of Corpus Christi. Hey slum what are you going to be down here for? Are you bringing the brute? If so we could go for alittle trail ride. I've only ridden the brute a few times but I'm amazed at the power from such a heavy machine. I'm thinking about going with the 27" tire before the cdi and clutch spring. Actually I might wait alittle while because it's exactly a week old to me haha. Will I have to run a lift to fit the 27s? I've been shopping around for new tires, what width would you recommend on the stock rims? Thanks for the info guys.
