broken tie rod end
Yesterday, I was doing 40-50 km/hr down a trail and realized I didn't have any steering Something which always makes me nervous flying down roads and trails. Royal Distributing up here in Canada sells All Balls tie rod upgrade kits which includes 2 x 12mm rods and all new ends. Anybody using them and are you happy with them? What are others using for tie rod ends?

Just out of curiosity...what kind of riding do you normally do and what were you doing prior to losing your tie rod? BTW-I haven't had to replace a tie rod, but I just replaced a wheel bearing in my Grizzly with an All Balls bearing and it seemed like a very good quality part. Equal to or better than OEM.

All Balls are Ok. I use Diamond Gs. ASR also makes a great set. SS ATV, a sponser her also has stainless sets.

The main thing is that you didn't get hurt. I'm still on my stock rods and ends but their are several good after market rods and ends. I mostly just trail ride. When I replace mine I'll probably find some beefed up ends and keep the stock rods as a "crumple zone". If everything is beefed up, then something else has to break.

I'm riding in southwestern Ontario Canada, so I'm into all sorts of terrain. One trail will be sand and water. Another will be rocks, but every trail has the necessary ingredient --- MUD! Considering I have 2000 Kms on my 2008 and I ride with a fairly aggressive group of guys, I was surprised the OEM ends lasted this long.

Im running a set of ASR pro X series on my brute. I had nothing but bad luck with the stock stuff. never bent a rod, but I had two ends come apart at the socket while ripping down a trail.

I don't believe I did. I used what came in the All Balls packaging...
So far, I don't have any complaints about the rod/end kit. They seem to be standing up to the Canadian Shield
