Default CV Boots

How much of a pain is it to replace the front outer CV boots? I am riding tomorrow and just noticed that both of them had a holes. If it is a pain, is there a quick temporary fix?

Have not had the pleasure, but sure it's the same as the backs. Kinda a pain. Some use a flexible self valcanizing tape like electrical splicing or gas line tape then a rap with some final tape like black electrical ir even duct tape. It has to flex and bend and seal the water out. Some guys have been able to clean them up enough to use a tire patch on them. That lasts pretty good but nothing will last very long though. What ever you do, don't take it out with those holes exposed. The joints are not cheap.

Ive replaced my fair share of boots on my quad. Pretty simple job really. I buy boots for early 90's pontiac firefly or chevy sprint. seems to be a perfect fit. and not to mention, they are dirt cheap

Its a cake walk. Last time I did a boot on mine (left rear inner) I think it took me about 45 mins and I had it all back together again.

and it is super easy especially if you have done it before, but other than that if you got the right tools which isn't much, its easy

Looks like I've got a torn rear left inner boot. Any special tools needed besides circlip pliers?
