side by side opinion
I've been looking at side by sides for awhile now. I'm mostly just wishing for one because I can't really afford it right now but I have been looking. I've narrowed it down to the RZR and the Teryx. Both have pros and cons for my riding style and use around the house. At this point my main concern is reliability. Which machine (in stock form) do you think would be the most reliable over time? anyone with first hand knowledge of both machines? opinions wanted.

ive heard of alot of transmissions and general reliability issues with the polaris rzr's. if you are needing one of these for around the yard, the teryx is the only option since the rzr doesnt have much cargo capacity.
the rzr is much more sporty I think, but then again, the teryx has some wicked performance/handling accessories in the aftermarket.

If you hold off long enough Can Am might have theirs out. I hear it just might look something like this

I'm in no hurry, I like the looks of it but I'd be afraid to know the price!

Yeah I've seen that picture a lot too. No one, expect Can-Am employees who work on the project, know much of anything about the Can-Am SxS. I have heard from dealers that they expect to see it revealed in late June or July. I'm definitely going to wait before buying anything. I'm like you, I really want a SxS but I can't decide between the RZR or Teryx...or maybe the Can-Am when it comes out. My old man has a RZR and a couple of my buddies have them as well. No one I know has had any issues with the RZR. The Teryx has a better bed, but other than that I don't know if the Teryx is better in any way.

what i just realized is that there is no bbk for razor as the pistons are right next to each other, i did read an article that someone came out with a 850 or 900 BBK for the razor and if you look at the wall thickness between the cylinders its next to nothing!!! i love my kawie but i have to hand it to polaris for the sxs its the lightest on the market!!! considering there 330 weighs as much as the kawie 750

My brother has a RZR. I like it a lot. It doesn't seem to have the ground clearance the Teryx has but it is smaller and would fit the narrow trails I ride better. He did have both front axles and wheel bearings replaced under warranty. If I got a RZR I would need to put a 2" lift and wheel spacers, which would make it almost as wide as the Teryx.
I also like the Teryx. It would the best for around the house with the dump bed. It is a little big for the trails I ride. I don't like the roll cage being so tall. I do like the fact that 27-28" tires will fit on it without a lift. I assume that it has similar issues as the Brute with leaky seals, etc.
For me there is good and bad about each. I need to get the machine that is the most reliable because if I get one, I won't be buying anything else for a long time.

My buddy has a RZR and so does his cousin. They are cool but built like junk. The front diffs are very weak and dont take alot to break. The frames are weak. The gas pedals have toyota syndrome.
I hate to knock them cause they are really nice to drive but i wouldnt spend my hard earned money on any polaris. I have plans for a teryx sport in about a year. A few bolt ons and you have rzr power with a better machine

That seems to be the general opinion about the RZR. I really like the teryx, even the new body style but I can't really afford one right now. I need to get something so my wife and/or my son can go riding with me. I may just get another brute ....at least they're cheaper than a side by side
