Default Engine oil for your truck

Just curious what oil you run in your pickup's and why?

I pulled the 350 out of my 93 chevy to rebuild it, and all thats left is final assembly. I had 373k on it, and when I took it apart, it had broken oil scraper riings, and the crank journals were scored up pretty bad. The truck ran like a top..and had mobil1 synthetic/purolator filters since it was 2 years old.
Im going to put 5000k on it before I make the switch to synthetic again, but im not sure if I want to keep with the mobil1, or try something else.

I never took pics of the dissasembly, but I plan on taking pics of the assembly this sunday.

I use Amsoil 5-30 in my 97 GMC K2500. It currently has 136K and runs great.

amsoil is a little hard to come by here, but i agree, its great oil. my dad was running their 15w40 in his big rig, and did oil analysis tests all the time. I think he was changing his oil at 70k intervals with that stuff, but changing the filters every 35k.
there is quite a few articals online about guys with story like that..quite impressive

I run Valvoline conventional in my 1995 V-10 Dodge. With 97K miles, its too late to switch to anything else, but I use Valvoline in everything anyway. Stays clean longer, never any lube problems, no sludge buildup, get it anywhere. I even have it in the Brute right now.

I tried Amsoil once in my 1970 Nova SS back when Amsoil first came out...at least I think it was new on the market. Almost lost a brand new engine with it so its off my list, but they have it down now and its good oil. Mobile1 is too as well as Royal Purple.

I run castrol 5W-20 in my f150. I went to a truck show once where they baked different brands of oil and castrol didn't break down as early as others did. If Amsoil was a little eaiser to come by, I would probably run it.

i just run the motorcraft 5w-20 oil in my f150. its fords oil and is what they put in from the factory, so i'll stick with that. never hear of any problems because of what brand of oil. only hear of problems from lack of maintenance, thats the biggest part to getting the most life out of these things.
