I ride a thrill craft and am damn proud of it! Just because you ride does not mean you destroy. My buddies, and I, stay on the trails and always take out whatever we take in. It is a great way to see some beautiful countryside and environazis seem to always take things to extremes.

No, not by any means. they just flat out hate us. thats why its important to not give fuel to these people, especially with today's house on the hill.

I would like to think...and I might be very wrong... that it's not us as people that they resent, but the result of what's been happening in may areas because of some owners of these machines. For most of us, we know that if we go off-trail, many after us looking for new trails will follow our tracks until a well warn trail is formed. After a while of this all you have is trails taking you through...more trails instead of countryside. Where I am, those videos I made of the masa, there was once a few miles of 2-wheeler trails only three years ago is now seventy miles of....more then quad trails...wide enough for sand rails and H2s on the older ones. It is some...not all of those people that are tearing up the hills getting stuck and buried ripping up everything. And because of that, that whole area will be closed to the public within a year or so. The next place I can go to ride is 2.5 hours away.. one way. So, for me, I am pissed at those people that cause things like this to happen to all of us.
Just my opinion....but for me...here...where almost nothing grows back in our lifetime, its becoming a reality. Am I going to give up my Brute....Hell No!

You are hitting the nail on the head here with the the few bad apples point, the problem is that these "blanket laws" that are made and enforced only penalize the people that follow the laws and regulations in the the first place. Its the same deal as all the gun laws and registrations in place...gang bangers dont care about gun laws or to register their illegal fire arms
so,I am going to offer a solution instead of pointing out a known problem that will take care of both of these issues. Every one should carry a fire arm and if you see someone off the trail ...shoot em!

And...don't forget to take a shovel...and is that...finders-keepers on the ownerless quads found on the trails?

I know here in PA DCNR takes money and you get a tag but you have to have insurance on your quad. They have trails all over PA but I really don't ride them. Why you ask? First off its not challenging anywhere. Its great for family riders. The most diffucult stuff my wife did when she has only rode maybe a couple of times. She even rides slow. Another reason is when its shut down so they can do maintenance on the trails they spend more time trying to keep people from going on old trails instead of keeping up with the new ones. We all know its only a matter of time that they close some of these and open new ones. They should keep some areas open for us that want to ride stuff that is more of a challange for the novice and not the beginner.

Correct me if I'm wrong but they are public lands and we are the public, shouldn't we have a say in how the lands are used? Just a thought: )
