My friend Alan has a passion for adventure riding his dual sport bike.Â* He has a 650 BMW that he is riding around the world.Â* He dives into the culture of each country he visits, takes thousands of pictures and writes about all that he finds... Not an ATV ride but a true inspiration for those of us who like to get off the main highways and see whats on the trails...ATV or motorcyle.[/b]
|
Now that is a dream of mine! Take my bike and just take off! No dead line of when to be back and no money limits of where or how far I go! Just the wind in my hair, the sun on my shoulders and some big busted babe holding on for dear life!!! Oh Yeah!!!

If you have the time to read 108 pages, it's worth the read from start to finish...keep in mind he isn't finished yet.Â* He started with a run to Alaska, then down around South America and is now in Africa.

Alan is living the dream...Â* :peace:Â* Seriously take a few minutes to cruise through his thread.Â* The pictures alone are beautiful, I can only imagine how breath taking they were in person.Â*[/b]

I'm on it! Thanks. I'll get back after the read. I love this type of stuff

Hell ya! I only had time to get about 1/4 way into it and had to go back to work. Just got off for today and going to get through some more! Awesome stuff! Thanks for bringing up this link. I am extremely jealous of him. He is living the life! Wife better be careful! It wouldn't take a huge amount of grief and I'll mt the bank account and send a post card from S. America.

Re: How far will you travel your Kawie?
OMG! I had to stop on page 40 to rest my mind! I almost died when he broke his leg! This guy is truly a legend and I'm not close to being through reading it! I saw where you commented a couple times KTM. I am dying to skip to the end to see where he is and what's up but I am detemined to catch up the hard way and finish reading every line! Great Stuff!!!! Makes some of my bike ride stories that I thought were good ones mear trivial fodder for the cheap seats!!!

Re: How far will you travel your Kawie?
I would love to meet and ride a little ways with him! I really enjoy meeting people like that. I am always amazed at someones background and what they have been through once you really get to know someone. Looking at him you would never have figured he would be the world traveler that he is. Just cut loose and let it fall where it may! May we all get the chance to just let go for a little while!!

Re: How far will you travel your Kawie?
Caught up 8:52 pm central time! Holy Smokes! How many times can a guy lay a bike down!?!? I know hes loaded to the hilt and it looks really top heavy but what the heck? The burn looks pretty bad, I can't believe it hasn't gotten infected! My fav pics have been of Africa so far! I love the animal shots. Can a lion catch a 650??? Can if your laying in the mud on your backside!!!
I am loving the site. Can't wait till next post. I figure he find another semi in the ditch pretty soon! All the wrecks? Unbelievble! If you love an adventure you must go check out this site!!!

Re: How far will you travel your Kawie?
What's your location? How far to AR.? Ride down this way and I'll give you some excellent curving snakeback roads to ride. I'll put you up for a week end or week at the Lodge with more trails and stuff to do!!! :rasta:

Re: How far will you travel your Kawie?
So far only an hour or two. But maybe later this year we can get enough to go to Hatfield McCoy's. But with diesel being over $4 a gallon it isn't getting any cheaper.

Re: How far will you travel your Kawie?
Convert to the cooking grease! You can get it free at lots of the greasy spoons. They are looking for places to get rid of it! Strain it, clean it and make the small conversions! NOW YOUR COOKING!!!! Cheap, burns clean and actually good for your motor!!!
