READ BEFORE BUYING AND SELLING
ATTENTION ALL SELLERS:
MANDATORY INFORMATION: Include price and location. People can contact you through PM's and get the rest of your contact information. If you want to sell or trade, you are required to list your selling price or your terms-of-trade, and your location in your original post.
OFF-TOPIC REPLIES: Any off-topic responses or bashing will be deleted by Moderators immediately! If you are not interested in the topic, do not respond.
NO COMMERCIAL SELLING: Plain & simple. If you are caught conducting business on behalf of a business, you risk losing all posting privileges on this forum.
NO FIREARMS: The sale or trade of firearms on this site is and will be removed immediately.
CROSS POSTING/LINKING: Our Classifieds the only place to list items for sale or trade. Topics concerning a sale or trade that are found in other areas will be moved to the appropriate Classifieds Forum. Do not link to where you have your item somewhere else (unless eBay). Put your item here.
BUMPING: There is a mandatory 24 hour wait period for bumping topics back up. This includes the topic originator, and/or any other users that may want to "bump" the topic for the originator.
MULTIPLE ITEMS: If you are trying to sell or trade multiple items, place them all in one topic. Do not start a separate topic for every item.
SECOND PARTY SALES: Second party sales are not permitted. Second party sales are those where a person is selling something for somebody else. If you do not own the item, do not post it for sale.
RIGHT OF REFUSAL OR "DIBS": If multiple users express an interest in buying your item, whether by public forum post or PM, please offer it to each of them in the order that they responded. It is considered fair & polite to offer the first responder a chance to match your best offer. However, buyers should recognize that multiple offers may be received back-to-back. It's only logical for the seller to accept the highest.
MAKE THE TERMS OF SALE CLEAR: Here's an example of a PM that makes it very clear what each party can expect. "Please send a Paypal payment in the amount of $xxx.xx to name@email.com by 5:00 PM tomorrow. If I do not receive payment by then, the item will be offered to the next person on the list."
HONOR YOUR WORD: Once you accept an offer, stick to it. Even if someone offers you more money, once you say it is sold, then it's sold. If the buyer don't meet your deadline, let them know you'll be offering the item to the next person.
AFTER THE SALE: If you sell your item, post saying is sold. This will help prevent old posts from reappearing after items are sold. Also it would be a good idea to leave trader feedback in our Trader Feedback forum. This helps us all to know who's good to deal with and who isn't.
SHIP PROMPTLY & PROVIDE A TRACKING NUMBER: Try hard to ship the item by the next business day after you receive payment. Encourage the buyer to let you use a shipping method that uses a REAL tracking number. UPS, FedEx and DHL all offer real tracking numbers on ground shipments. A USPS confirmation number does NOT provide tracking information on an item int transit. It will only show when an item was delivered.
SLOW SHIPPING & DELAYS: Some of us, myself included, tend to procrastinate. It doesn't make us bad people. However, your buyer is entitled to know when to expect delivery. The key here is communication. If you're going to be delayed, let the buyer know. If you're going to be delayed a lot - perhaps due to extenuating circumstances - offer to let the buyer back out. It's about more than just being polite. Sometimes a person is trying to buy something in preparation for an event. If you are unexpectedly late shipping, it could mess up their plans. If you keep them informed, then they have a better chance of being able to deal with it.
ATTENTION ALL BUYERS:
GET SELLER INFO: Due to the abundance of mail fraud, we urge all of you to gather as much information about a seller as possible before sending payment on an item. Information such as:
• Company Name
• Person's Name and Title
• Address
• City
• County
• State
• ZIP Code
• Country
• Home Phone No. (Include Area Code)
• Cell Phone No. (Include Area Code)
• Work Phone No. (Include Area Code)
• E-Mail
This info should all be readily available upon request. If they are hesitant to offer any information I urge you all to NOT BUY no matter how good of a deal they are offering. Also, if you have any doubt in them telling the truth, I advise you to "test" their information. A call to the person's place of work on their work phone # and a simple "May I talk with..." will ensure they provided accurate information. Also, if they are under the age of 18, I recommend speaking to their parents about the deal at hand. This is not meant to disrespect honorable teenagers, but the problem seems to be isolated to those 18 and under.
MAKE AN OFFER, NOT JUST AN INQUIRY: Often a buyer will send the seller a PM simply asking for information or stating that they might be interested in an item. If you want to be 100% sure you get the item before someone else, make an honest-to-goodness offer. True, a considerate seller will give you a chance to complete the sale if you were the first to inquire. However, some of us just won't or can't wait for people to make up their minds.
KEEP TRACK OF YOUR RECORDS: DO NOT pay for items to be shipped in cash. Get a certified check from the bank or a money order from the post office. KEEP ALL RECEIPTS AND CHECK STUBS. If the shipper is willing, have them ship your package COD (cash on deliver). Also, keep any e-mails or private messages could aid you in receiving reimbursement.

Hopefully with everyone's help, we can make this classified section one where everyone feels safe buying and selling four wheeler parts and other miscellaneous items. If you are contemplating committing mail fraud, I suggest you Google the consequences of committing such a crime.
Finally, If you make an agreement to buy something, then buy it.
