Default another noob tire question

just got my 08 bf 750 and it is my first atv---want to change the wheels and tires but choice gets to be a little overwhelming. Not looking for so much of a mud tire as I would just like something that can grip rock and trail ride well--I am leaning towards the 26 terracross mounted on ss 108---will loss of power be noticeable?--will the brute still wheelie well?

terracross and bighorns seem to be some of the choices for rock and trail and with 26in you shouldnt loos much if any maybe with the heavier rims

Default another noob tire question

I just went thru the same thing that you are going through now. So many tires and wheels.....so many choices. My head was spinning. After looking at the type of riding that I do, which is similar to what you are riding, I decided on the Kenda Bear Claws, 26", on ITP steel wheels (black). I asked all the questions regarding weight, effect on performance, etc., and found that the 26" Kenda's won't have a significant effect on the 750i's performance, but will give me a good footprint for rock crawling, and will be good in sand, hard pack, mud, and snow. The price was definately better than some of the other choices. I am putting new shoes (tires and wheels) on the Brute for $440.00 shipped to the door. From what I hear these Bear Claws will last a very long time.

Good luck in your hunt, and enjoy the Brute. I know I sure enjoy mine.

Mike at Dick's ATV did me right on this deal. I could not ask for better service. He was also very patient with all my knoob questions. In addition to the tires and wheels the package comes with new lug nuts and center caps (ITP).

From experience....running stock wheels and tire on my brute, then swithing to 27" XTR's on chrome Climax wheels, I do not notice any power loss at all. im only 140lbs too. but with 27's on my machine, I feel it accleerates quicker with the tall boots on (obviously)

Yep. Mike at Dick's ATV is your man. And I am loving the super light weight ans now power loss of these new 28" Maxxis Zillas. I believe they are even lighter than 25" Terracross or 26" Swampfox Plus'. I know I didn't even need a clutch kit man. Awesome new concept. A trailable mud tire in 28 that is SUPER LIGHT.

I know I know...another Grizz. But...if this all stock grizz didn't loose squat with these 28's....Imagine your Brute!
