Default Info

Just bought a 2010 BF 750 last week. I'm not one for changing or modding much on the machines. Like to leave them stock as much as possible. Only thing I may possibly change are the tires. We do mainly technical riding with a bit of everything. I'm not a deep mudder guy, but if we have to go through it on the trail I will. Lots of fairly deep water x'ings, marsh, rocky and swampy terrain. Also lots of fast dirt logging roads to let er go on. I may possibly put on Carliisle ACT Radials at 25 x 10 x 12. If I do go to 26 x 10 x 12, will they rub on anything? From what I see, the BF has lower ground clearance now than before. I know the stock tires get a bad rap, but are they really that bad......Thanx

Welcome to the forum.
To answer your questions yes the stock tires are pretty bad, with technical riding and creek crossings you might run into a lot of sidewall punctures and the tire roll is horrible. A 26" tire will fit with no problem at all. You will hear a lot from the bighorn and the terracross guys and they are both really really good tires, and the act tire is a good tire i haven't really heard anything bad about them but i also haven't heard anything really great either but they are good. Hope this helps.

Take a look at the various all terrain radials out there. The Bighorn and Terracross have been mentioned, but also look at Interco's Reptile. It's a radial version of the Swamplite, a well known and very versatile all terrain tire. I have the Swamplites (front 26-9-12 and rear 26-12-12) on SS108 wheels.

Welcome to the Site. I have ITP ATR's 26'' on mine. Gotta Love them. I'm looking at getting something a little better now that I got twice the power....

I have been very happy with my XTRs for most all conditions. Never let me down through anything and pretty good on the trails too. I will be coming down to 26'x10s on my next set and they will be more of a trail tire. Terras, Bighorns, Bajacross, Dirt commanders....ect. There are of course many good brands out there and types. Best to take your time and read all the writeup you can find. I firmly believe in radials so whatever I do, it will be at least that. I have actualy settled on 26x10x14 Bajacross all the way around. I'll be putting them on my current Vision rims.

Did she have metal braces on her legs and walk like a crawfish on crack? She wuz a lot of fun! Floated her down the cosatot river with some class 4 and 5 rapids on a 80 qt. ice chest with a bunch of friends and we made camp on top of whirlpool rock. It was about 70 feet tall and all us drunks were takin turns jumpin and flippin off the top and climbin back up. She got loopy headed and I saw her takin off her braces catchin some sun, didn't think nuthin bout it till I looked around and she dun crawled over the side. Damdest thing i ever seen, her swingarmin through the air wid them little legs flippin over her shoulders fore she hit the water. I wuz bout to jump in to hep her but she popped up swimin and just a grinin... Took four of us two hours to get her back up on top of that rock. tied er up after that..

Slumlord;
No, my avatar is a guy from the Canadian Made television series "Trailer Park Boys". Probably the raunchiest show on TV. It centers around three guys (Ricky, Julian and Bubbles) who live in a Trailer Park in Nova Scotia, Canada. Their main occupation is growing the best dope in the province, drinking lots of good booze and retiring at 35. They are always on the verge of being kicked out of the Trailer Park by the Trailer Park Supervisor, "Mr Lehey and his Aid "Randy". Randy's gut is so big from eating cheese burgers he cannot wear a shirt. My avatar is "Bubbles". Bubbles lives in a small shed in the park and steels shopping carts from the mall, Ricky lives in his broken down car and Julian lives in a trailer, but is in and out of jail all the time. There are many other characters in the park they interact with all the time. If you ever saw this show, you would never stop laughing. Be warned, it is not for the faint of heart and no minors should be within earshot of the tv if 'it's on. Go to "You Tube" and type in the search box for "Trailer Park Boys", then sit back and piss yourself laughing.

I too really don't add power increases add-ons other than a DG5 to fix the power slump at take-off, I go more for stuff that improves ride/handling/positive feedback with everything working together.
Go with the 26" tire and you will gain a little ground clearence back.
I didn't care for the Bighorns, good tire for everything except for fast riding.
The ACT Carlisle Tire I believe is a 3ply radial, they come stock on some of the Outlanders and so far I haven't been impressed with them with the ones who are using them and they wear-out fast.
Lots to look at anymore in new tires, so far I am 100% pleased with the Terra-cross's.
