Default 27-9-12's all around?

I was wondering if anyone has run a 27-9-12 or 27-10-12 on stock stock rims all around. Im looking for tires for general trail riding and want to keep the stock rims due to cash and getting engaged within the next few weeks. Most of the trails are rocky hard pack with the random stream crossing and light mud. I was looking at the swamplites and the maxxis zillas, Any help would be great and pics even better.
Thanks Nick

You can use 27-10-12 front and 27-12-12 on the back.I do,i use the bighorns.
Go to my thread pics of 27 bighorns and you will see them on my brute.

Trail tires. The first names that come to mind are ITP Terracross and Maxxis Bighorn, both standard and 2.0. Swamplites and zillas are not people's first choice for trail tires although they can work fine.

27" tires. I have ITP XTRs 27x9x14 front and 27x11x14 back. Great tire, but still not the best size or type for trail riding. Although I will always buy radials for my Brute. On my next set I will be going down to 26" because I need...well...want.. more agility, quicker steering response as well as weight reduction which will aid in throttle response, not to mention lower stress on the steering and drivetrain. I will also be going with 10" wide all the way around. Many do it and love it. The 9s would be Ok, but a bit skinny for what I do...and it might look strange. I'm looking at ITPs Bajacross because I like the specs and can get the size I want, but the write-ups on sand and soft stuff are not all that great.

That's my input...and opinion. I am very sure others have their own.

I like Terracross I have them on both brutes. why are you thinking 27. They come in 26x9x12 and 26x11x12. They work good here on the trails in northern Colorado.

Thanks Gus and Rider, My last set of tires were 27" XTR's in 14's and were great tires and i could get those to rub pretty easy on the rocky terrain and on the dunes. Since cost is an issue this is the reason im looking at the zillas and swamplites, and for the money they seem to be some of the best tires out there. Plus i can get them in 27-9-12 up front and a 27-11-12 in the back as i wouldnt want to go over an 11 on the stock rims.
Gus The tires do look good on there but a little close to the tank for me, but how bad do they rub?

The reason for the 27 is mostly ride comfort and a little more ground clearence. I loved my XTR's i has but were way to heavy at the time, now with the work done im not so worried that more so price as i dont get out and ride as much as i like i cant see spending $120+ for a tire that will see little use.

wouldn't a 27x12 have a lot of roll in the corners?

Im running 27x10 swamplites all around on mine, mainly riding hard pack trails. No complaints here. they are awesome in snow which is a big plus for me also. they throw a wicked roost in the loose stuff which is always fun hehe

with he power of the v-twin, the swamplites do take a beating. they are a very soft rubber compound.

I would think so. And...27x11s on stock rims could be a problem. My 14" Visions are 4+4 so they are centered and with my 27"x11 XTRs with the suspension fully collapsed, I have only about an inch and a half ( maybe less) between the tire and tank. Isn't the stock rim 5+2 ? If so, that's another inch to the inside. Gett'n P.D. close there I think.
