will 26x12 mudlites fit rear
Need help. Have to get tires, stock ones are shot. Want to go with mudlites xls. 26x9 on front looks like no problem. Its the 26x12 on rear that I question. looks like it might hit fuel tank under compressed rear suspension. I know you guys know what fits and what doesn't. Was gonna use stock rims,(hard up on cash right now) but would consider in-expensive aftermarket steel wheels, but need to know waht offset to get. I would like to go wider than the stock 10 inch rear tire as long as it would be a direct bolt on w/out spacers, otherwise I will stay w/10 inch rear width. Thanks in advance.

I know a 12" wide tire will fit but not sure about using the stock rim. Nobody I know kept the stock rim because of the stibility issues with it. I have my stock set, and want to get a trail tire but will not consider using them. Yup, that's the difference betweeen 450 and 800 bucks. It's worth it though.
Remember, going from a 10 to a 12 is only an inch on either side of the tire. With a floorjack under the back, take the rear shocks off and lower all the way. Or set the shocks on the lightest and have a bunch of buddies sit on the rack. See if you have that inch between the tire and tank tub. I think there is more then that but it's been a long time.

Geno,
Are you talking about putting them on a BF IRS, or SRA? I had 26x12x12 Mudlites on the rear of my Prairie, on stock rims, and had no problems with them hitting the fuel tank. I ran them for about 2000 miles in all kinds of conditions, including hare scramble racing. They are a great tire and the 26" size is a good compromise over stock size and much larger mud tires. IMO

don't worry I ran 27x12 Mudlight on the rear (stock rims)of my quad before I bought my XTR's and you may get a little rub in extreme riding but nothing to loose any sleep over put them on and forget about it. I would do it agian in a heartbeat if I couldn't afford new wheels. It will be one of the best mods you can do your bike will feel so much more stable.

If I was to get after market wheels, what offset should I get? Going on the rear of a 06 brute force.
