Brute Force Mod
While at my local dealer today, the salesman "chris" is shooting the breeze about the BRute I bought from him this Summer. He asked me if I seen the new mod on the 2008 Brutes? I said no, what is it? he says, "come look"......
As I come around the garage door, I see the 08' Brute EFI with......
YZF 450 Dirtbike shocks bolted on the Brute. Yup, the front shocks from a dirtbike, they bolt right on. The owner of the Brute says it handles AWESOME now. I think the resovoir is WAY too close to the tires (only about 1/2 inch) but he said they haven't rubbed yet. It looks sweet, but I still don't think it's all that. Has anyone seen this before? Does the dirtbike shock act decent on a quad? I will attempt to stop and take a picture of the Shocks, but I wanted to throw it out there.

Brute Force Mod
I think I found the issue. I am guessing here, but as stated in other Forums too, dirtbikes don't have front shocks. I think the salesman MEANT the YFZ450 QUAD shocks (front) would bolt right up..... I am not a dirtbike guy, so this didn't sound too off for me. Now I got thinking about it and looking at some pictures of dirtbikes and it all added up..... Makes sense now.

Thought thats what he meant, but I figured you might be talking about the rear shock on the yz450f dirtbike, or something along those lines. But yes the yfz 450 shocks mount right up and they work awesome. I owned a yfz450 before the brute, and the only reason I got elkas was I bent a shock, but they were great.
