Default Help

I have 07 650 straight axle I recently bought. I have put new valves , cleaned carbs , it cranks good but will only run when it's on choke .One of my buddies thinks it's a fuel issue, I am thinking low compression, it's the back carb that not hitting , haven't sone compression test yet. This is my 1st brute force, not my first 4 wheeler. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check the compression but check the valve setting to be sure they are correct. If you will also drain the carb bowls into something you can measure the amount of fuel and see if there is any water in the bottom. Pull the fuel line off the carbs and crank it...see that it has a good solid stream. If not, look to the pump or crap on the intake screen in the tank. The other thing these are sure to do at some time is crack carb boots. The clamps cut the boots and you then suck air. enough air and it will need the choke to run.
