Noise from front end?
On a 650i Brute :
When you cut the bike off, it makes this sound. Like my Grizzly does when you cut difflock on/off.
I happens twice I think. Everytime you cut the bike off. I think it is normal.
I noticed the other day that it does it sometimes while you are riding it. It felt like it darted slightly when it made the noise?
What is that sound?
Is it normal?
Thanks,
Adrian

Maybe... It sounds like a small electric motor. It is more of a slight grind or whine sound. I think of nails on a chalk board when I think of rubbing balloons together. It isn't like that.

Its just your engine break actuator setting itself in the "Parked" position. They all do it. Watch at the end of this video.

That is what I am hearing when I cut the bike off.
Thanks!!
Why am I hearing a similar sound when I am riding at low speeds?
Somebody told me it could be the belt actuator? The bikes seems to have a slight dart to it when it happens, and it usually happens when turning.

Well, at about 3mph, that actuator rotates the fork in to hold the spider/shieve against the belt for engine breaking and when you get under 3, it releases. If yours is quiet enough, you can hear it. Now if..the shieve isn't fully against the belt when it engages, it might get a little traction and feel a little like its jumping forward...although as you see in the video, it doesn't take much to move the shieve in to touch the belt. You might have something out of adjustment just a little. The actuator isn't supposed to have to actualy push against the primary spring, just hold it from coming back until below 3mph.
My advice...try not to ride much under 5mph unless you are coming to a stop. Besides...its a BRUTE, it needs SPEED...hehe
