Default snorkel?

the snorkel kits how do they work really i know they water proof the clutch houseing and air box but wat about the pipe? if it cuts off under water i guess you just sol right? or does it stop water from coming threw the pipe? i know im prolly sounding pretty stupid for asking that but hey i dont know jack squat about the snorkels. please give me some info on it. thanks

Well, think of it as...placing everything that could allow water to get into places it shouldn't...above the water level. Sure, airbox, CVT intake and exhaust, but also carb vents,crankcase vents,waterpump dump, gas tank vents, diff vents...and yes the exhaust. They make a pipe adaptor to bring that up too. I always called it a rat tail, but there is lots of great info for all this stuff over on MIMB.com. Those guys do it..a lot..its in there blood so to speak...lol . Me..I don't put mine in that deep of or under water.

With all the right stuff, guys put the back ends under a couple of feet and water wheelie enough to keep the pod out of the water. Safe....well, you always risk water getting in the diffs, engine,electrical connections, gas tank....but you prepare as best you can. You won't always win...just keep that in mind. And when you loose one, it won't ne cheap.
