What do you think of the 750 EFI Brutes???
Hey guys long time no see. I actually forgot about this site until I was cleaning out my email box and saw the email from way back when it changed over from the old site.
Anyways I have a 08 650i and its been a great bike and i have a few mods on it. I have had starting issues with it from day one but once warmed up its been fine. Over the summer it also developed an issue where sometimes when you let off the throttle fully it would stall on top of the hard starting issues. i think I just got a lemon cause it only has 70hrs on it now and its been dyno tuned and valved adjusted. It still start's very hard but will actually warm up with the choke on and will actually start w/o throttle once warm.
I guess my question is how am I gonna like my new 09 750 EFI. I got so tired of the carbs that i just put a deposit down on a new 09 750 EFI and am trading in the 650. They are gonna transfer most of my stuff over that can be transferred and what cannot will be new so basically I'll be rolling out of the dealer with a new 750 set up identical to my 650 just in a different color.
How do your bikes with EFI start cold? Do they warm up nice with no issues? Start warm with no throttle? Do they really run that much better then the carbs or did i just get lemon carbs? I'm pretty excited even though my 650 was more then enough for me I just want the EFI and hopefully am done with the running issues

Wildman!! Welcome back buddy! Its been way too long. Yeah sounds like the 650 has the floats set too low or a fuel supply issue. Mine had float issues when new too. After getting them right those problems ended... Still a hard start after a week or so, but all carbed Brutes are that way.
Well, I still have my old carbed 06 and still going strong. I will say that EVERYBODY that got an EFI Brute is digging it to no end. Sub-zero starts to 120 just a touch of the button. There were some with issues on the 08s but damn few. I am not hearing anything bad with the 09 except from those that ride'n underwater all the time. Electronics and water don't mix. Sometimes you get a leak.
Well, good to hear for you wildman. Don't be a stranger

Thanks for the reply. I have not heard many bad things myself but just wanted to be sure I was doing the right thing. Like I said earlier the power of the 650 is more then enough for me to trail ride with and I love the way I finally got it set up but the carbs have been an issue for me from day one. Glad to hear I should be 100% happy now with the EFI and a little extra power is always a good added bonus.
Now that I found the site again I'll try and hang out some more!

That's a shame that the dealer wont do anything about it. We have a few bad dealers here to but i have found a pretty good one an hour from me. I'm hoping I wont have any issues with the new one

Nice...I hate carbs. They never seem to be an issue on the single cylinder cylinder machines though, just the twins. I have been lucky with my KFX700 though, that runs top notch for carbs

From what I'm hearing it sounds like it was a good deal to spend a few bux from the old tax return $$$ to upgrade.

Love the efi, my 08 had the stall when coming to a stop pretty fast or blipping the throttle do to the idle set to low from the factory but other than that i wouldnt trade it for the fiances 09 650, the efi is just much easier to deal with and starts much nicer.
