I can tell you from experince you did the right move by dumping the canned-hams.
I can't speak for the gades but the outty has nothing over the Brute Forces.
Weak frame design is the biggest beef, my outty had poor shocks/springs as well and as far as finding a used set of aftermarket shocks for a canned-ham, forget it-you will have to spend the $3000 on new shocks to fix it. Canned-ham does offer a spring upgrade(at a extra cost) but from my research it is only a band-aid fix.
I had many other Beef's with my short-owned Outty, I'm just am happy I was able to get out of it and not lose much in the switch back to the BF750.
Now even with your FI Brute, nothing is perfect. Install a Steering Stabilizer, you choice on the amount you want to spend on one, upgrade the sway-bar bushings and the Stock Shocks on the 08/09/10 BF750 have been improved by Kawasaki but they still could use a upgrade to a full set of aftermarket units. This is true on any bone stock ATV, if you ride hard and fast, spend the bucks and upgrade the shocks. Not only will you make the Brute handle super the overall ride is truely improved and you don't need to buy new either when it comes to aftermarket shocks, plenty of used units out there now and at a big savings.
I never had one problem with my Carb Brutes but it sure is nice not to have to deal with jetting issues anymore, hard cold starts, stiff throttle and I gained with a improvement in mpg with FI.
Now with your clutch upgrade you may not see the mpg improvement but it shouldn't be any less than what you were getting with the 650.
Have fun with your New FI.
