A 1000 hrs, WOW!!!! I've had my Brute a tad over 2 years now and I don't even have 100 hours on it. If you read my "22 More Days" thread you'll under stand why this is.

So gus. i have to ask in all the time and km on your bike now. what has gone wrong or right?..
do you go through as many seals as we do?
have you ran synthetic or regular oil through its whole life?
any problems. (i remember the one about he exhaust)
what parts have you had to replace? besides the wearable ones like brakes, tires, etc.
have you had to rebuild the engine at all?

Well now,i have been running motul 15-50 synthetic oil all my brute's life, never had any problems,i like it a lot.
I have to add some every now and then because due to the high pressure and compression and the wheelies the oil goes up the cilynders, but this is a minor issue.
The actuator is always a problem which i am about to solve any minute now,i will order it soon and the exaust is my big issue which i will see now what i have done with the header wrap....
One time, around 4000 miles,i had a metallic noise from the rear dif and the wheel seemed to brake on its own,the right as i recall, and i took it to my mechanic, took it apart and told me that something was loose,i do not know what, tightened it and no problem again whatsoever...
Never had any problem with seals or any other mechanic parts except the exaust. In my buddy's brute, whenever we go trailing the tie rod bends all the time...We had to change it 3 times so far.
Mine never but i am more carefull when i ride because next morning i have to take my brute to work...
I think i was lucky that i got a bike from a "good" production line maby...
I expected to have more problems but besides that,i take care of my brute, change the oils in their time, the valves and everything regarding its maintenance.I am very typical with these things as well with my car and never had any big mechanical issues in all my vehicles.
As i always say,if you take care of it,it will take care of you...
