Default will it work?

my 750 sucks steam like crazy when I hit the water or mud and of course it dies and I have to re-start it, ok heres what I want to do, If I took a peice of hose like radator hose and put on the front of the air box and just ran it right out above the air box right back towards me It would only be like 6 inchs long, would that mess the jetting up like snorkling it? the only reason I dont snorkle it is because it still has like 4 years of warrnty left! Thanks for any help!!!
