my quad is a 07 750 brute. it runs alright at an idle and till it hits mid range then it falls flat on its face. after taking for a ride i pulled a plug and it was black like sut on it. so i don't know if that helps the diagnosis.

from the sounds of that it sounds rich but if you ran good before the lid and powerflo kit it doesn't make sense that you are having issues with them installed. The mud lid seems to let less air in but is countered by the powerflo kit because it takes air from the top. Next question did you block the front intake.

If you don't get any satisfaction here try calling the guys at EHS @ 1-866-997-2345. I purchased a few things from them for my '09 which of course is FI but these guys really know their stuff down there and I'd be willing to bet they could fix you right up.

I'm with VT on this one. The lid did require you to block the stock intake and if you did not, you are very lean. But if you did, take something like a cigarett butt and lay it across the lid seal by one clip and clip the other leaving the one unclipped. Run it down the road and back. If it runs better, then its just not getting enough air for some reason. Check the install on the lid parts and the prefilter. But if worse, then its even leaner . It's up to you to find out why. One thing I had was a split carb boot sucking air in and making that cylinder very lean. Couldn't see it. Had the carbs off a dozen times looking for the reason then finaly checked the boots.

swabber30...Black sot on your plugs generally means you're running too rich (getting too much fuel for the amount of air it's getting) Two fixes, find a way to get more air would be the best. By getting more air you will also get more power. Your other option is to jet down, in other words feed the engine less fuel in which case you could end up with a little less power.
I would recommend that you check to make sure your choke plungers are not getting stuck open because this will also cause you to run rich.
It's unlikely that your carb boots are torn because if they are, you would be running a lean condition and your plugs would be light in color and without sot.
Hope this helps.

Forgot about the choke plungers. That is a common problem along with the cables and springs haveing problems.

you are way rich!!!! just my 2 cents but that lid would be coming off I'd bet it would run better with mimb snorkels, its half the price and alot safer for the motor, from what I've read these lids do alot better on the efi brutes
