All the reading I've done on snorkeling my '09 BF doesn't say anything about having to snorkel anything other than the CVT intake, exhaust, and the air intake. A friend of mine is telling me I need to snorkel the vent lines coming from the differentials as well as some line coming from the fuel injection system. I've got all the stuff to do the snorkel with (I think so anyway) and I'm wondering who is right here.

When I did mind all I did was the air intake and cvt exhaust and intake and I have been fairly deep a few times and have had no problems yet. I was told it was a good idea to do a few othe lines as well but never did.

On mine as I am sure they still do on the 09's, the diff vents are routed up to the pod, so as long as the bars are out of water, they are too. I don't know about any vent relating to the FI system, but it could be routed up there too...I guess.

Wow..what a tee-total pain in the backside. I started getting the stuff together this morning for the snorkels and worked on it off and on throughout the day. Should come out ok although I'm not real crazy about cutting plastic. As soon as I get it all together I'll put some pics up..It'll probably look like hammered cat-poop but as long as it gets the job done, that's all that matters I guess. Something tells me I shoulda just went with the mud intake and been done with it..

You're braver then I am man. Mine's an 06, and I still can't bring myself to cut any holes in my plastic...although I am thinking about a water temp guage by the shifter. Good luck....and what is that they say...measure twice and cut once? Something like that.

Tell me about it! The only consolation here is that the shroud will cover the cut plastic and although the shroud will be cut, I'm gonna fix it up a little. A friend helped me do most of the work today and if you've never done anything like this-like me-it helps to have someone else's input. MIMB has been a big help, too.

Take a peice of spare pcv, cut an angle on it and set it on the pod cover, see if its the right angle and so on. Once you get the right angle, trace it onto the shroud and cut it out with a dremel. The take and get some small rubber hose from lowes or whatnot, and take a small pair of scissors to cut it in half and glue, wrap it around the edges of your holes. As for what else needs to be vented, I would definately vent the gas tank, the diffs and fan is already ran, vent the radiator overflow tank, and the waterpump overflow if you have extra hose. It has a valve on it so that it doesnt allow anything in, but i wanted to make certain so i vented it. Here is a pic of the two sets i made.

Hey man I almost forgot about that duckbill on the airbox. BE SURE you plug that shut. There is a couple how-to's on mimb about how to install a valve onto it so that you can still drain the airbox if need be. I just plugged mine shut altogether.

Great pics. Thanks. Now I know what it will look like. Do you have a favorite brand of guage?

Well heres the thing on the gauges. I was going to buy a sweet Autometer gauge b/c they are well known for their quality, BUT, they arent waterproof. So I did a little research and came across a Sunpro by Snap on. They are only around 25 each, so i figured i would try it out. So far so good but I dont knwo how it will hold up to mud and water. The only place i can see where water may try to get in is where the bulb slides in the back. I am prolly going to run some clear silicone around it and it will be waterproof then. All together i have about 70 bucks wrapped up in it. So really its all in what you want. I figured for the money I would go with the Sunpro gauge and if it tears up I wont feel bad, but if a $90 Autometer tore up I would wanna cry.lol In your neck of the woods you should be good to go though.
