I've ordered the EHS racing lid for my '08 650i and from what I'm hearing and seeing, I'm gonna be rejetting my carbs. Does anyone have a stock machine with this lid and do you have any tips for me?
Or should I have just ordered the mud lid and forgot about jetting?

I haven't ordered mine yet. But from everything I am hearing and reading you shouldn't have to rejet! You may want to turn up the fuel mixture screw a little but unless your elevation is close to 1000 or above you should be OK! I would put it on, make sure you block the old intake really good and then see what she does. Make the call at that point..

Right. Have to block the front. The restriction is close to being the same as the front so you probably won't rejet. BUT...let us know.

Sorry, I didn't catch that he was talking about the racing lid. May be a different story on that one. My comment was on the Mudlid! The racing lid looks to have a lot more air flow. So rejetting may be ness with it!

You had my hopes up Slumlord! I ordered the racing lid (not the mud lid).
http://www.ehsracing.com/products/brutefor..._airbox_EHS.htm
There must be others who have installed this lid on a stock 650i, since the Brute is known for stalling with too much splash. Wondering if they had to rejet and how much (if any).

Yeah, my bad, I am going to get the mudlid and that was all I saw when I read your post. I still would put it on, crank it up and see what happens. Put new plugs in and run them a hour or so before installing the new lid. Pull and look at the plugs color and then install the new lid. See how it runs though the whole range and make notes. Pull the plugs and look at them after running with the new lid a little while and see what you got. There is a ton of knowledge on this site on rejetting. Put your findings back on this post and see what advice you get...

PM Eric at EHS he has a starting point for the racing lid if you are not going to add an exhaust and such I would get the mud lid and not rejet giving more air is always better BUT if you don't open both ends its not going to be any better performance wise. If you not going to add the exhaust then get the mud lid block the front and run it. There will be no real performance gains between unless you do both. One thing you rejet with the racing you don't with the mud lid.
I did the exhaust as well as the lid and it made a diffrence all the way across more air in more air out.If you keep the bike stock get the mud lid
