Default front diff locker wont disengage

My front diff locker wont disengage. I pulled off the cable and it is working fine, the 4x4 engages and disengages fine also. Has anyone else had this problem before? What was the fix? Thanks

Does the arm move on the front diff when you release the lever? Is your cable set too tight?

The arm moves and I have the cable completely out right now. Still won't disengage.

It should take about 15 ft.lbs. to turn one wheel while the other is locked from turning without the diff. lock engaged and it should be 116 or higher to do the same with the diff. lock engaged. Any idea how much yours takes to turn one and not the other.

Also, make sure the punch mark on your shaft is ligned up with the punch mark on the lever. If they are not it could be holding it on.

Were you stuck and slipping it a bunch that it may have "welded" itself?

I know its stuck, its almost impossible to turn while moving. I was in some deep mud when the problem came up, the spider gears are probably screwed up or the mechanism that engages the locker is bent internally. I was hoping someone would have a simple fix, its apparently not simple, i'm going to have to tear apart the front diff to see whats going on. Oh well thats part of the fun. thanks for the input boloiii
