Default STOCK EXHAUST MODIFIED AND HMF GONE........

how much power gain do u think everyone is getting? also what size of jets will i need? Anyone have a sound clip? My brute is mostly stock with the exception of the stuff in my sig. the only performance mod would be the dynatek cdi. I was looking into the hmf exhaust but from what i've heard some are disapointed with them. So if i can make my stock exhaust sound good and gain as much power i will be happy. Plus if it is just gunna cost me a jet kit and a few hours labour why not.

Default STOCK EXHAUST MODIFIED AND HMF GONE........

so let me get this straight for when i do it first there is a silencer then turbine then after that is a baffle chamber. but in you pics the one titled baffle chamber is it the the same one that you drilled the holes in becuase they look much different. one is very dirty while the other appears shiny. i would like to know the exact makeup of these before i do this. also what jetting would you recomend after soing this?

Yes that's the order they're in. I pressure washed the inside before I drilled it. That's why it looks different. As far as the jetting goes I'm at 142f / 146 r 4th clip on the needle 2 3/4 turns out. This is with a Dynojet kit. It really needs a #40 pilot because it could stand to go another 1/4 turn out. I also have the resisters removed from the plug boots. This will effect the jetting. Your jetting may be totally different when you get it done . All I can say is free up your afternoon , get a hand full of jets , new plugs and do some plug runs. Pay attention to what your plugs tell you.

With the HMF the powers comes on with a hard hit. Very pipie. With the stock mod you get the same amount of power but the powerband is very broad and comes on allot smoother.....not as hard of a hit..but allot of torque.

Ok, I did mine almost the same as the one in the pics. The only difference is with the end cap. I didn't cut mine flush like you did. I just removed the packing in it. But I drilled holes in the one baffle behind the finned baffle and opened the fins up like you. I have one complaint about it. When you let off at a slow speed it whistles. There are no holes in the welds either. Its sealed up fine. I don't know why it does this. It sounds good under acceleration but on the decel I was disappointed. I am thinking about cutting the end off and modding the first baffle now. I guess I should have drilled holes or something. My brother modded his and the only difference in the way we did ours was he driled holes in the finned baffle and I opened the baffles up more. His sounds great on accel and decel. They do have a different sound as well when you rev it.

What do you guys think my whistling problem is?[/b][/b]
I just removed the packing and the the small pipe with all the little holes and I too have the whistling problem on decel. I am now going to try puting a pipe in the place of the pipe with all the little holes. I'll let you know if it works.

I fixed my whistle by putting a piece of 1 1/2" pipe where the pipe with all the holes was.
