Default what happens when your friends play with your brute

alright i am tired and havent had much time to mess with it but here it goes. my buddy to her out and now the bike doesnt run.
Problems
the bike didnt idle but now it does (only if the batery is hooked up)
when you give it throttle the carb slides start to fludder and spit but if the choke is on it runs slightly better when you give it throttle
he says that only the rear of the bike was under water

Mods:
Dynatek thats it

recent tune up was done last weekend

Any ideas?

1. Never run it without the battery hooked up.
2. Drain the carb bowles. Probably has water
3. Check for water in the tank. Raise the front of the bike then the left making any water go to the right rear corner where you can use a hose to get it out.
4. Check the valve settings and check all electrical connections for water.
5. Check that no water got into the oil. If so, change several times w/filter
6. NEVER loan your Brute or girlfriend to a buddy...ever! They never come back the same.

thanks for that there was information not mentioned yesterday and brought to my attention this morning that the rear of the bike was totally underwater for 5 mins it so . That means about 20 in real time. I am going to try that tonight.
On another note you deserve one pee pee touch for the info
I always said you can do what ever you want to me my wife hell my dogs if you are into that but don't ever touch my money or my truck I guess I need to add the brute to the list
It appears that this thing is fragile compared to my grizzly 700

Any machine, left under water, for even a short time, can get water into the fuel system, or engine. Big thing is to make sure that there are ZERO traces of water in the oil. In fact, change it regardless. These V twins will spin a bearing if you get water in the engine. The upside is that when you rebuild, you make it bigger and faster. :-)

Somthing about some things being under water for a while that wern't supposed to. Dogs, cats, GFs,cars, Brutes...Grizz...all come out somehow...different. Changed by the experience..might say.

I got some water into the system one time.. took apart and drained everything i could think of.. still sputtered and ran liek shit. Ended up calling a shop and they told me to drain the fuel and retry, sure enough that was it. Never put the fuel cap inder water but youd be surprised how things manage to work their way in there.

If it was under that long, you better pull the plug and look at diff oil, make sure its not milky! Won't take long to cause probs there too if the rear seal was weak.
