Default changed belt and springs now wont go over 6mph

I have no idea what is going on I replaced my belt that was completely broke in half. put in new springs on the primary and secondary. Also changed the oil. Now it will start fine and ideal great, but it wont go over 6 mph. at that speed it starts back firing. O and my belt light is still flashing. It is very similar to going in reverse without hitting the over ride button but much worse. I dont know if it could be the fuel or what. just wanting any help i can get

You've just tripped the belt sensor. There is a procedure to reset it (I forget what it is - but there will be something posted in this site for sure). When you trip your sensor it puts the bike into "limp" mode, and that's what it does.

You must take the belt cover off,trip the switch back to its place and after do the procedure to reset it....
