Default belt noise

I have about 1700 miles on my 03 prairie 650. I get a heck of alot of noise out of the CVT belt clutch. I put a new OEM belt on some thing? My belt light is on as well? Any one can you help me? Doyou have to reset something to get ur belt light to go off?HELP PLEASE???Thank you

Yes there is a procedure to reset the belt light. did you check the belt deflection with the new belt?

if i remmeber correctly, you need to unplug the connection above the cvt cover, then there are two plugs under the seat that you need to reverse. cycle the key for a few seconds, then reverse the connections and plug the connection back in on the cvt.

I put a dynatek cdi box on mine so I never have to deal with belt lights again, so its been a while since i did this. im sure nmkawierider will correct me if im wrong LOL

thanks ill try that.Yes i keep the procedure under my seet incase in happens on trail. I was in Intelake riding area in southern indiana 15miles from truck and belt let go! i had a spare and had to change it in the rain.Then had to call a dealer to reset computer. As you can see thats why i keep procedure with me all times now!
