Check the Brute Tech section of actuator troubles. That flashing means one isn't right...might be unplugged.

You can take it apart, clean it up, use light oil or none on the gears but something on the shaft bearings, the motor has brushes and an armature that can be cleaned if careful. When replacing, be sure to get it back into the slid-bushing on the fork.

Also, the light just means the actuator isn't positioning it self so it might be that the fork is stuck or the end location of the primary clutch isn't correct...like if up under-torked it maybe...or the end bearing is out..or the spider isn't seated correctly after the springs were pit in...something like that.

how could the spider be seated wrong? i know that the arrows have to be lined up but what else could be wrong it goes right on dowel pins and sits flush. also could it be because the rpms are to high. i read that the on of toggle swith in the upper side if the case when in the off position rpms are limited. and being with that huge spring is goin to run high rpms right?

Bruteboy...think about that for just a second....Its just a toggle switch...no way for it to move without external forces..and if it was tripped...the light would be on solid...not flashing. It take strings from a disintegrating belt to whip against it and trip it. Nothing else will do it.

The actuator moves from a "Parked" position to and "Active" position when the key is on. Then about I think 3mph it rotates another quarter turn into the engine brake position so when the spider retreats back out, it bumps against the fork holding the shive against the belt...until you fall below 3mph, then it returns to the Active position. When the key is turned off, it goes back to the "Parked" position. At least this is how I understand it.

Ok, if it can't get to the active position, the light will start flashing or if it is in any other position other then active when below 3mph with the key on...the light flashes. That's all it knows. There is a poteintiaometer that sends signs at certain points to the computer. If its not where its' supposed to be...error code time.

I would take it out and leave it wired in and try it and see hat it does out of the cover. If it still does it, something wrong with it. If the light stops flashing...something wrong with the fork or clutch position.

Only the belt trouble code has to be reset. The actuator trouble code don't stay in memory.

I had something going on in mine and I just poped the cover off to see if my new belt was having an issue but it looks OK. Found some sand and stuff from that road run we had the other day in it. But, I watched my actuator work and what it does is move from the park position to the engine break position and back again when you shut the key off. So, when you turn the key on, it shouldn't do anything unless you are moving above 3mph, then it will rotate in and under 3 it rotates out. Turning the key off makes it cycle once. I wonder why they have it do that?

Ok,here's on you you guys. I started hearing aclick when I came back down to idle and with the cover off I see that the spider started moving in off idle and name contact with the belt...actualy moves farther then I would have thought but when I back off and it comes back out to the stop at the bolt, it hits it hard enough to make a click. Probably always did that but never noticed it before. Anyone else notice this with theirs?

Here's a video of it
