defective spring?
I would love for someone to explain this one to me. I Have a built brute force with the VFJ stage 3 mod. I had a maroon spring in the clutch with 25' holeshot atr's. My bike pulled the wheels like crazy making it damn near impossible to drag race unless we start from a role on. Well I put the stock primary back in and lost three miles an hour on top (from 83ishmph-80) and its even more rediculous on the low end. I mean this thing is stupid. I was really hoping for the opposite effect. I thought the factory spring made more on top and less on bottom? I thought that the Maroon did the opposite. I used a torque wrench and got the primary as close to 69 foot pounds as i could. Is it possible that this is a result of over or under tightening the primary bolt? I have no idea.......

It is true that if you don't clean the end of the crankshaft and the inside contact area of the clutch with something that leaves no film like acetone or laquer thinner, even oil from your fingers can be enough to allow the two surfaces to slip no matter what tork you use. Even I have done it and I know at least 4 others that have too. Acts real wierd.

Would you mind checking out my "Wheelie bar post" maybe that would help. Im trying to lose bottom end and put some in the midrange to top end. Raced my buddies built qrizzly this weekend. Destroyed him once the front end came down but it took till about 35 or 40 before the power is manageable. This thing is all over the place. Looks like a slightly controlled crash more than it looks like a drag race.

Nothing you can do about it the low end on the brutes are crazy nuts I had the same problem as you when I raced. You have alot more power in yours then I did mine cant imagine what that babys got out of the hole. Springs wont help. I used to lightly hit the throttle on take off then mash it to keep the front end down its hard to do though
