Default Oil Cooler System

Well, thanks to NMKAWIERIDER's tech article on installing an oil cooler on our Brutes, I went ahead an ordered the parts per his article.
How To: Engine Oil Cooler For the Brute

This is for NMKAWIERIDER, do you call what the gasket was that you had to buy for the adapter? I'm guessing it's just a rubber (?) oil filter gasket. So, can an O-ring from the old oil filter work to seal it?

Thanks.

The adaptor comes with the O-ring for the back but not a gasket for the center sleeve that pulls it all down. They said it doesn't need one but I found some by-passing when used without it. Because it gets tighted-down pretty will, it can't be an o-ring or gasket material. I took the sleeve down to NAPA and matched up a copper oil drain plug washer for it. It has to be not much wider then the hexed part of the adaptor sleeve to fit but they had all kinds. No problem.

Thanks, I understand what gasket you bought now. I'll go look for an oil drain plug seal when it gets here.
