Ok it helps but how am i suppose to know how much 13lbs of pressure is with my thumb? I tried to measure it and it looks to me like the belt only moves down about 5/8 of an inch. but what is 13lbs of pressure again.

What they want is for you to make sure all the free play is at the top of the belt so you can measure the distance between the bottom of the streight edge to the deflected belt. 13lbs is a number that can be used that will still not push the belt down in the secondary clutch. The difference between 8 & 13 on the measurement isn't enough to worry about, but it is important to get an accruate measurement. It has to be between 22 and 27mms.

ok i used a fish scale and put 13lbs of presure on it and it only moves 5/8 of an inch. My buddy has an 2009 kaw. 650 and we measured his and its sittin right about an inch of play. So i guess mine is way to tight and i need to add shims, right ? now where do i buy these shims at and do they go on the primary or secondary clutch? and also where do i get the tools for this at, and what tools do i need? sorry for all of the trouble but i just want to get this thing fixed with out costing me butt loads of cash and i want to learn how to do it. Cars and Trucks are my specialty and im learning alot from you guys about these four wheelers. Again Thanks a bunch.

You will need the service manual, a tork wrench, primary puller and a spring compressor and some hand tools like snap ring plyers, screwdrivers, some grease and some acitone. You also must measure the deflection per the book. 2 millimeters one way or the other will make a lot of difference. You have to be exact. There are two sizes in the secondary and the difference is so small, you will have a hard time telling the difference, but know a little goes a long way. For almost nothing you can download the manual from MIMB, and they also have some howtos with photos.

Dude...it has to be in the ON position!!! That's "System ON" not belt light ON
