Well, I priced out a kit from truro recreation that included 11.5:1 pistons, bigger cams, etc and he said its good for 90hp at the crank. If im not mistaken, thats almost 50% more horsepower than stock..I think you will feel the difference!!!!!

Take lots of pictures please, I want to tear mine down eventually but I want to see what I will be working with before hand.

well to tell you truth its really not hard as you think just getting the heads off is easy as a street bike but you have to disasemble the altanator wich is in the reciol starter case to get that off you just take the bolts you see, the bolt directly behind the pull cord cover and the water pump then the part i had troubl with you have to have a fly wheelpuller wich is a m35-1.5 or m38-1.5 i bought mine at the dealer well rented it but you can get them on line for like 36 bucks but if you buy from kawasaki it will be around 130 its just a socket like thing with right hand inturnel threads and like a threaded rode like a bolt that you tighten down and it pulles the wheel off and after that every thing pulls off and the crank case splits with the bolts out but i doubt you will change the crank and if you wanted to change the rod you chould do it threw the cylinder holes in the crank case. but i thank you for your help on this but i will post all the pics when im done

Have you thought about aftermarket cams?

yea to tell you the truth i had the hot cams in my cart and was about to buy them but seeing this is my first rebuild i thought it would screw my guel up to bad because i have no jets in my brute and have no clue how todo it but being that the cams are right on top i figured i could go in and put cams in in just a few hours after i figure out wat im gone do about jets.

Outstanding... Keep us posted on your rebuild progress. Oh, make sure you convert all of the specifications from the Brute manual to our measuring system, if you need to. The measurements in the manual are metric.

I have a question...what Octane fuel will you need with 11.5 to 1 pistons? Seems like 102-104. You can still get that somewhere? or will you need to add Octane Boost to every tank?
