You have to convert the specs in the manual from the metric system to our system. For example, .020 of an inch is not the same as .020 of a millimeter. Here's a link to one of many conversion web sites on the net,

I run 91, or higher, octane in my Prairie and I have 11.5:1 compression pistons. Just run premium unleaded and you will be fine.

And no preignation? What is the total compression? The 12.0:1 I had in my LT1 had to have none less then 108. Bumping 200lbs with the shaved decks. She was sweet...but only when she was fed right. Hard to believe a .5 difference in compression can allow you to drop all the way down to 94. I guess it would depend on the actual compression.

It has alot to do with the cam design also. intake duration and lobe seperation play a big role in the fuel you need to run

with the jets whats the best jets to buy and is it a pain to tune?

I recommend the Kiehin Jets. EHS racing has them. I get mine from PJs Yes, it can be a pain to tune.
