Default Lift and Big tires

I thinking about installing a 2" lift in my 650 SRA and running 27" Swamplites. I want some opinons on doing so. Mainly the lift. Obviously anytime you lift something you raise the center of gravity and it becomes more top heavy. I want to know if anyone here has lifted their SRA specificaly and how has it changed the machines handling. Im not interested in doing so if It feels like im going to topple over everytime I get a little off camber.

Lifting will change the camber of the front wheels a little. Is it be harder to steer?

Lifting will put more driveline angle on the rear driveshaft. Will this create any vibrations? More wear and tear on U joints?

I'm not sure about the sra's but I wouldn't think you would need a lift any Brute just because of with 27s.

The reason why I want to lift is to get more ground clearance. Im hoping it will help me get through the deep snow a little better. We have had a lot of snow this winter. It would be nice to be a little more capable.

I went from the 25s to the 27s for that very reason...ground clearance. I was getting hung up on downed trees where my friends weren't. That gave me more then 2" extra. But I found that in snow, it wasn't the ground clearance that gave me trouble, it was anything over about 8-10" and or crusty stuff that stopped me. I never got to the plates on debth before I was in trouble. But anyway, the 2" kit isn't bad. It will be more tippy but you can set it back down in the summer I think..not sure about the SRA version. And extra angle on U-joints and CVs is a strain, but people tend to do it and the Brutes handle it.

Trever the lifts will help more for the clearance under the front more than the rear, its the tires that are reall gonna give you ground clearance do to the SRA.. Id say just run the 27's if you do deep mud, snow or anything thats gonna be tough on axles...my buddy is running 27's on his 650 SRA, I think their mudbug's ,no lift an dhe does fine

I was kinda gonna post the same thing but with the question and wanting opnions on weather i should or not.. Im running a 06 BF750i with 28's on it now with highlifter springs(I dont think these raise the bike)..And when these wear out i was gonna go with the 29.5 laws.. The thing is, I do alot of heavy mud and water riding.. I have Gorilla axles all the way around but dont wanna snap them..I wanna do the lift to get away from the 29.5's, instead of having them close to the body

Hows everyone else doing with a 2" lift

Can't speak for me cause I don't use one, or those that do, but from what I hear most are having no real issues with just the 2" lift. Of course it does put more angle on the CV and those sometimes have issues but less then I would have expected.

As previously stated no reason to lift it to fit 27" tires. If your on stock rims wides may rub the gas tank, but aftermarket wheels or spacers will fix that. Swamplites have been reported of running almost an inch larger than the listed height.

Not sure about the SRA's but the 08 and up IRS's have different springs than previous years and are much softer, if you can find older springs for sale (usually really cheap) I've been told it'll raise it up between half an inch to 2 inches depending on the sag.

IMO if I were you, I would look at upgrading the springs before a lift. Bought used they can be found much cheaper. Sometime this summer I plan on doing this. Highlifter also sells "Lift Springs" but they do pretty much the same as the older springs.
