My friend,my exaust does the same thing almost...
Does it backfire a lot?
In my exaust the spark arrestor broke and it is loose in it and when in idle it sounds like a rattlesnake...
When in high rpm though the sound stops a little...
How does yours react?

Sometimes like gusmx5 says either parts of the spark arrestor can come loose or a section of baffling can seperate. Doesn't happen very often, but if the bike is new and under warrenty...just go and get a new one put on. If no warrenty...I wouldn't put up with the noise. At least get a nice slip-on muffler like a HMF. Of course..if you have the bucks...a full Muzzy or Big Gun would be nice

I did exactly this!
Allthough the atv is still on warranty,i oredred the hmf utility series slip on because the dealer said in the beggining that he is not sure that the exaust is covered by the warranty...
Anyway,i ordered the slip on last week and today i went from the dealer and he said that he will cover the whole exaust because my header is broken also...
So,i will have a spare tail pipe...is anyone interested????

I don't think the warranty covers the exhaust but it does cover quite a bit I have had at least 3 grand of work done to my quad with the extended warranty.
