I have a 2008 650i and it starts ok cold but takes a few minutes to get it warmed up and able to run on its own since it wont run on the choke. Anyways that's not really my concern. When I'm out riding and it's already warmed up and you shut it off for a few minutes and go to start it again you always have to feather the throttle to get it going. I see everyone else just pressing the starter button on their quads and it fires right up and idles but I have to feather the throttle or i'll crank it all day and nuttin but a spit and spudder. Why does it do this??? Do I need a rejet??? I'm totally stock besides a Dyna CDI. Over the winter it had a little lean pop to it also. Only has 21 hours and about 65 miles on it

From what you are saying from cold start to hot, all indicators say your slow or pilot circut has a problem. Either it's plugged, the pilots are too small or a/f (idle mix) screws are set less then 1 turns out. First set them at 2.5 - 3 turns and see what happens. If you didn't put in #40 pilot jets when you put in the CDI, do it now. Its much needed and won't ever run right without them.

up our way the 40's are not a necessity for them to run with the dyna as I have never ran the 40's myself its not uncommon for the kawi vtwin to need a blip of throttle to fire up cold or warm. a needle shim and a/f mixture adjustment will help. if she doesn't want to idle then I believe you need to adjust your idle thumb screw and give her a tweak there as well. I had mine down lower as I thought it was idling to fast but my dealer told me you need to be on the higher side and been good ever since

It's not that its really that hard, i understand everything its just bad carma follo0rs me around and especially with duals!!! I F'ed up 3 sets of carbs on my banshee and even the single on my 250r. When it comes to carbs I just do not touch them anymore and especially on this basically new machine! I'll change clutches and whatever but i'm not touching the carbs on here.
So who within driving distance wants to make a few minor adjustments for me??? i'll even pay ya if you want!!! Also interested in riding...let me know but I should get this taken care of asap before an issue arises

If your BF is completely stock, other than the Dynatek, I do not think that you should have to rejet. I am going to be extremely busy for the month of June (moving out of my place, getting my girl friend's house fixed up to rent out, and closing on a new (to me) house w/ land and riding trails), but after that if you still want to tinker with the jetting, I am sure that vtprairie, and I, could help you out. I am about two hours away from you. You will need to purchase a few jets, going up a couple sizes from stock, for us to try. If you want to change your pilots out, we can try that too, but I know that I am still running stock pilots, even with all my mods and a Dynatek. You should be at the same elevation that I am, so I kind of doubt that you need to change out your pilots. We might have to shim your needles and maybe go up a size on jetting. Hard starting, when warm, can also be an indication of valves out of adjustment. That is not something that I can help you with, as I have never personally adjusted the valves on my Prairie.

Well I'll certainly take you up on the offer when your ready. It runs pretty damn good now but once the temp cools off a bit its defiantly to lean so it can defiantly use just a slight adjustment. Maybe I shouldn't say it starts hard warm but you cant just hit the starter button either...always have to feather the throttle just a tinny bit but it always fires right up.
Probably just a needle shim and slight a/f adjustment and its rock and roll! let me know when you guys are all set and we can do this and take a ride!
Also my buddy is gonna try and plan a ride down this way sometime soon and when that happens we will be sure to invite you guys
